Free advice leaflets for small tourist businesses on how to handle the Euro are being publicised by London's Liberal Democrat MEP, Baroness Sarah Ludford.
Sarah Ludford said:
"Tourism is worth £8 billion to London's economy every year and employs 275,000 people right across the capital.
"With over 300 million people now using the Euro as their everyday currency, small tourist businesses can potentially attract a great deal of custom by accepting Euros as payment.
"These leaflets - produced by the British Tourist Authority - help to explain to those Londoners who run small tourist businesses like B&Bs how to go about dealing with the new currency.
"The Euro is a reality in 12 European countries. Those who embrace the business opportunities it presents will win. Those who turn their backs on it will lose out. Londoners are cosmopolitan and enterprising people. They will not turn their back on this golden opportunity."
Those people wanting to get their hands on the leaflet - The Euro: A guide for small tourism businesses - should send a stamped, self-addressed envelope marked "Euro" to the Policy Unit, British Tourist Authority, Thames Tower, Black's Road, London W6 9EL.
