Sarah Ludford and Islington's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary spokeswomen Bridget Fox and Laura Willoughby congratulate Patrick Vieira on Arsenal's unbeaten record
London's Euro-MP Baroness Sarah Ludford joined thousands of Londoners on the streets of Islington on Sunday (16th) to celebrate the achievements of her local team Arsenal, winning the Premiership with an unbeaten record.
Speaking (in French!) with manager Arsene Wenger at the civic celebrations in the Town Hall Baroness Ludford thanked him, and Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry for what they have done for Anglo-French relations in North London. She said:
"Arsene Wenger, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry have done more to make swathes of North London and beyond feel warmly about Europe than any politician. This season Arsenal has shown how to get the best out of Europe!
"Arsenal benefits greatly from its Continental talent, yet is no less a North London team. Euro-sceptics (as well as of course the other teams in the Premiership) could learn much from my local team!"
