A group of 25 students from South Camden Community School travels to Brussels tomorrow to take part in tomorrow's European Day of Commemoration for Victims of Terrorism.
They will join a large multinational group of students from European schools in Brussels in the debating chamber of the European Parliament.
Following a welcome address from the European Parliament's Secretary General, each school's speaker will present their views on combating terrorism.
South Camden will be represented by Mohammad Juned Khan. Some seventy-five percent of the student body in South Camden is Muslim and the delegation to Brussels reflects this balance.
At 10am (UK time) there will be a minute's silence in memory of the victims.
Following the students, there will be short speeches from London MEP Sarah Ludford and other senior MEPs from Spain and Greece.
South Camden Community School was affected by the events in London of last July, being close to the scene and constrained by security activity. The situation was handled by the staff with great composure and sensitivity.
Dermot Scott, director of the UK Office said: "This day of commemoration took place for the first time last year, on the anniversary of the dreadful events in Madrid. It is sad that we now have another major outrage to commemorate, but it is fitting that the UK should be represented by these wonderful young people."
School Head Rosemary Leeke added: "South Camden Community School is honoured to have been invited to represent the young people of London in commemorating the victims of terrorism.
'Many of our young people have all too much direct experience of the effects of conflict in many corners of the world. But they are resilient and they are getting on with their lives and working to fulfil their ambitions and dreams. Central to these is their belief in the importance of maintaining and strengthening the sense of Camden and London as a united community which will not allow itself to be destroyed.
'We are proud to be able to share this belief with our European neighbours on such an important occasion.
