Euro-MP attends Kiddush

London's Liberal Democrat MEP and peer Baroness Sarah Ludford, a member of the Liberal Democrat Friends of Israel, will be joining the North London Progressive Jewish Community (NLPJC) for Kiddush Saturday 9th September.
NLJPC, which covers the areas of Hackney, Haringey and Islington, is organising this event as part of Jewish Heritage Week. There will also be an exhibition of art by Jewish artists from north London, research work by the communities' children into the lives of older people and photographs from the NLPS archive.
Baroness Ludford commented:
"I am delighted to support this event and welcome the generous gesture of the North London Progressive Jewish Community in opening it to people from all faiths and none and all walks of life."
"Such inclusiveness plays an important role in building bridges between different communities, so vital at the present time. London's diversity is a cause for celebration and I am certainly looking forward to learning more about Kiddush."
"I am also going because I am deeply concerned at the rise in both anti-semitic rhetoric and violence. It is perfectly legitimate to criticise the policies of the government of Israel, but making racist and prejudiced remarks or perpetrating hate crime against Jews is quite another thing. I am determined to do my part in stopping that."

NLPJC's Kiddush will take place on Saturday 9th September at 11.30am in Abney Public Hall, 73a Stoke Newington Church Street.
