Sarah with students from City and Islington sixth form college
Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP has sponsored a group of students from City and Islington Sixth Form College to leave the classroom behind for the day to see European politics in action.
On Thursday 23rd November, the students will visit the European Parliament in Brussels where they will be given a guided tour, a briefing on the Parliament's functioning and role in the European political process and meet Sarah Ludford to debate European issues.
This visit follows on from last December's highly successful visit to the European Parliament by City and Islington Sixth Form students arranged by Sarah Ludford. She commented:
"I am delighted to welcome City and Islington students back to the European Parliament and am very much looking forward to what I am sure will be a frank exchange of views on the EU and its impact in London."
"If people do not understand what is happening in Europe, we cannot reproach them for rejecting it. These trips are an essential part of ensuring that the next generation of British leaders understands and experiences politics at the European level, as well as giving students the opportunity to share their ideas and experiences."
