Our answer is a firm and resounding No!
The submission which was written by London Liberal Democrats, including Sarah Ludford, London Assembly members, Tom Brake MP, and Mayoral candidate Brian Paddick states:
"The Liberal Democrats are not persuaded by the predominantly economic arguments used by the DfT to justify expansion as they pay too little regard to the full impact that expansion could have on climate change, (including economic impacts), noise levels and air quality. Moreover, we are concerned about the breadth and robustness of the government's consultation and note that the language used has been criticised as being impenetrable. We therefore continue to oppose any further expansion at Heathrow or the relaxation of the current operational restrictions."
