Ludford presents EP extraordinary rendition report to Congressional hearing2.36.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 30th Apr 2007
With nine fellow MEPs, Sarah travelled to Washington for meetings at the Departments of State and Justice, Homeland Security and the Treasury and to brief a (now Democrat-controlled) congressional hearing on CIA extraordinary renditions. As vice-chair of the European Parliament's temporary committee on that subject, Sarah presented to Congressmen and debated with them the report which was highly critical of European governments for colluding in illegal activities. Sarah is pictured here in Congress with the committee's 'rapporteur', Claudio Fava MEP.
